Overview

Most vegetation datasets come from satellites, drones or temperate parks. Robots, inspection tools and mapping models that work on the ground in the tropics face something else: tangled undergrowth, banana plants, ferns, dry leaf litter, half-hidden fences and sheds, all under harsh midday sun.

This dataset is photographed at eye level on rural land in southern Vietnam: overgrown lots, gardens, field edges, footpaths and outbuildings. Images keep the natural clutter and lighting that models will meet in the field.

Sample photos

Real photos from this topic, shown at reduced resolution. Full-resolution samples are emailed on request.

  • Dry leaf litter covering cleared ground beside a fence, with trees and an open field under a clear sky
  • Overgrown rural lot with dense shrubs and weeds, a metal-roofed shed and palm trees in the background
  • Thick tropical undergrowth with feathery leaves in the foreground and a banana plant behind
  • Young trees and tall grass in an unmanaged garden plot under dappled sunlight
  • Climbing vine covering the edge of a weathered brick shed with a corrugated metal roof
  • Dirt path through mixed tropical vegetation with trees, banana plants and ferns

Use cases

  • Vegetation segmentation

Train models to separate grass, shrubs, trees, bare soil, leaf litter and structures in dense tropical scenes.

  • Land-use & land-cover ground truth

Pair ground-level photos with remote-sensing data to validate land-cover classes in Southeast Asia.

  • Outdoor & agricultural robotics

Teach mowers, field robots and drones-on-the-ground to recognise traversable paths and obstacles in rough terrain.

  • Property & site assessment

Estimate overgrowth, clearing needs or fire-fuel load (dry litter) from casual phone photos of a plot.

Topic-specific notes

  • • People are not the subject; anyone in frame is blurred by hand after review.
  • • Location is recorded at region level only; exact GPS is removed from every file.

Frequently asked questions

Are these drone or satellite images?

No. Every image is taken at eye level with a smartphone, which complements aerial data you may already have.

Can you collect specific vegetation types or seasons?

Yes. Tell us the plant types, terrain or season (dry vs rainy) you need and we will confirm feasibility in the quote.

Do you provide segmentation masks?

Masks can be added on request. Send your class list and we will include it in the quote.

How does payment work for a bundle?

You pay a 50% deposit at checkout and the balance when we deliver the final bundle. Free sample photos are available above before you order, and the deposit is refunded in full if we cannot deliver the agreed spec.

Why is a bundle so much cheaper per image than a single image?

A bundle is planned and collected as one job, so capture, review and privacy processing cost far less per photo. Single images are priced for buyers who need just a few specific photos.

What is the difference between non-exclusive and Exclusive?

With Research or Commercial we may license the photos collected for your order to other buyers later. With Exclusive they are never licensed to anyone else or added to our catalog.

Can I order a different quantity or extra annotations?

Yes. Request a custom quote with the quantity, annotations and deadline you need. Prices per image fall as quantity grows.

Need a variation?

Different angles, lighting, locations, quantity or labels? Describe it and we reply within 48 hours with matching samples and a quote.
